The Ghana Police Service has mounted a heavy security at the Ashaiman District Court as the convener of #FixTheCountry movement, Oliver Barkar Vormawor makes his second appearance at the court.

The #FixTheCountry convener was arraigned two weeks ago for comments he made on social media threatening to topple the government should it go ahead to pass the controversial e-levy.

He has been charged with treason felony for his coup plot threat and denied bail the first time he was brought.

The heavy police presence is aimed at averting any disturbances as some members of #FixTheCountry Movement were spotted clad in red and displaying placards calling for Mr. Barker’s release.

Most of the supporters of the movement were seen Monday morning chanting ‘war’ songs with placards with various inscriptions on it.

Mr. Baker-Vormawor was arrested at the airport after his social media post and the police after confirming his arrest noted that there was clear intent and willingness to execute the coup.

The movement had claimed that the whereabouts of their convener was unknown after he was picked up; a claim the police has denied.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor, subsequently went on a hunger strike in order to protest what they term as a ‘false democracy’.

According to a member of the #FixTheCountry Movement, Felicity Nelson, Mr. Baker-Vormawor refused to eat and was living on only water.
