Angelonline.com.gh can confirm that the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Slavko Matic, has lodged a complaint against some of the team’s fanbase at the Police Headquarters in Accra.

This was after the Serbian trainer was prevented by some aggrieved supporters of the team from holding a training session with the playing body on Friday morning, March 3, 2023.

Accra Hearts of Oak host archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 5, in a league match that doubles as the 2023 presidential cup.

Ahead of the much-anticipated match, the phobians were scheduled to hold their last training on Friday, but Coach Matic who has come under massive pressure over poorly run matches was denied access to the team.

According to the fans, the performance of the 47-year-old coach does not warrant leading the side in Sunday’s clash, thus their action, because they cannot watch the team sink.

He came under pressure following a back-to-back defeat against league leaders Dormaa Aduana Stars and local rivals Accra Great Olympics.

The Serbian coach who was spotted at the Police Headquarters and reported is believed to have told the police that he was assaulted by the said fans.

Although the police have taken up the matter, no arrest has been made at the time of filing this report.

The rainbow club goes into the matchday 20 league fixture cum presidential cup match against the porcupine warriors in 6th position with 28 points.
