The Executives of the Pokuasi- Ayawaso Fitness Club have organized its maiden health walk at the Ayawaso in the Ga Central District of the Greater Accra Region.
The walk which commenced at the Anyaa School Junction and ended at Ayawaso, all on the Anyaa to Pokuasi stretch of the main Awoshie – Pokuasi highway was aimed at helping members keep fit and also advertising the formation of the club.
Chairman of the Association, Charles Eduafo who led the walk said organisers looked forward to getting members stay fit during the Christmas festivities and beyond.
“We sought to advertise the formation of an executive fitness club through the walk and also help every member of the club to stay fit…we seek to do this every month…,” he said.
The Pokuasi-Ayawaso Executive Fitness Club is the umbrella body of independent and like-minded businessmen residing in the Pokuasi-Ayawaso enclave in the Greater Accra Region.
Financial Secretary of the club which is mainly made up of businessmen, Alex Ofori hinted that the club would aside being an association for businessmen in the Ayawaso-Pokuasi enclave also champion the community needs of residents around the area.
“We are very much aware of the numerous challenges facing residents here in Pokuasi and Ayawaso. We as a club will cease each available opportunity to call for help for community members…,” he said.
He further called on all businessmen and other well-meaning residents to come join the club and help move Pokuasi and Ayawaso forward.
Participants were also screened of various diseases by personnel of the National Ambulance Service.
