The Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has announced a scheduled shutdown of its Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and offshore Gas Export Facilities for essential maintenance work.

The shutdown, set to take place from August 1 to August 17, 2024, is part of a planned effort to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

In a press release issued on July 31, 2024, Ghana Gas detailed that the maintenance activities are critical for sustaining the plant’s operational efficiency and ensuring an uninterrupted gas supply in the long term.

The statement noted that, “During this period, Lean Gas from the Sankofa-OCTP field will be available for delivery at the Takoradi Distribution Station (TDS) to mitigate any potential disruptions.”

Ernest Kofi Owusu-Bempah Bonsu, the Head of Corporate Communications at Ghana Gas, expressed regret for any inconvenience the shutdown may cause.

He however assured the public that there would be no interruption in power supply throughout the maintenance period.
