Manifestos in political seasons by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have not had any significant impacts on the country despite its occasional promises, Central Regional Cordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Joe Donkor has stated.

Mr. Donkor, a former First Vice Chairman of the NPP Central Region asserts that it is time Ghanaians do away with the practices of voting based on manifestos and vote according to achievements.

“Let us reflect on the track records of these political parties and cast our votes accordingly because manifestoes will not help us. Yes, it won’t help since there is no way these manifestos can be implemented so why do we always rely on manifestos?

“For me, I see no need for anyone to even come out with a manifesto because not even 100 of these promises out of the 200-page documents would be made to work. We should forget manifestoes as it hasn’t been helpful to this country called Ghana,” he said during Thursday’s edition of the Angel Morning Show.

Touching on the forthcoming 2024 general elections, he said “We should weigh John Mahama’s performance and achievements during his tenure as president and do the same thing to the NPP government in their administration nearing eight years and cast our votes on their track records.”
