Police Inspector arrested for allegedly defiling 14-year-old daughter

The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma North, Awurabena Aubynn has criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what she described as decades of neglect and incompetence in the constituency. Speaking to Angel TV News on December 2, 2024 at the Darkuman Police station where the special voting was held. Awurabena accused the NPP of failing to address critical developmental challenges despite holding the Ablekuma North parliamentary seat for over 26 years.

Citing poor infrastructure as one of the pressing concerns, she highlighted the “Lafa gutter” at Awoshie, a drainage system that overflows during rains, leaving many residents homeless. “For the past 26 years, NPP MPs have disappointed the people. They claim even when they cloth a sheep with the party colors, the people will vote for NPP, now all the sheep are dead and some missing, its left with humans who are suffering,” she said.

Awurabena further alleged that the NPP prioritizes vote-buying during primaries and elections over meaningful development. She pointed out abandoned projects falsely recorded as completed, and a lack of basic healthcare facilities such as clinics or CHPS compounds in the area.

The NDC candidate pledged her commitment to transforming Ablekuma North, urging constituents to vote for change in the upcoming elections. “The people of Ablekuma North deserve better. I am committed to fulfilling my promises and addressing the real needs of our community,” she assured.

With the elections fast approaching, Awurabena’s remarks add to the growing calls for accountability and improved leadership in Ablekuma North. The constituency faces a pivotal moment to decide between continuity or a fresh start under new representation.
