The College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has issued a three-day ultimatum to the government to address their conditions of service.
According to CETAG’s Vice President, Mr. Daniel Mensah Ofori, if the government fails to meet their demands by December 20, 2024, members of the association will be compelled to “advise themselves.”
Mr. Ofori expressed frustration with the government’s handling of their concerns, noting that CETAG has been let down repeatedly due to unfulfilled promises during negotiations.
He emphasized that members of CETAG would not resume teaching unless the government pays their arrears and resolves all outstanding grievances.
This statement suggests that CETAG members may embark on industrial action, including a possible strike, which could disrupt teaching activities in colleges of education across the country.
