Former Mayor of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Iddrisu Superior Musah, has opined that the former President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, traveling with the presidential chair was needless.

In an interview with Saddick Adams on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Friday, January 24, 2025, Musah Iddrisu stated that the immediate past president should have humbled himself as a leader of the country.

“Sometimes you have to humble yourself as a leader, and I feel that it is totally needless for a president to travel with the special presidential chair. To me, it was inappropriate for him as a president. I spoke to some of his associates to advise him, but I don’t know if they did or if he chose not to listen because he kept carrying the chair,” he said.

The former mayor asserted that the president’s decision to carry the presidential chair was very unfortunate; however, he stated that there was no need for him to do that as a leader of the state.

In his submission, he explained that Ghanaians granted him the mandate to lead the country, and he believes that there is no spiritual force that can harm him.

According to him, he does not believe in any spirituality that would pose a threat to him, and it is not right for the president to act in this manner.

He stated that sitting in a different chair does not imply that something will happen to him; however, the president should not have traveled with the presidential chair.
