The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), has given the West African Examination Council(WAEC) a one week ultimatum to release withheld WASSCE results to allow students to meet university admission deadlines.
Speaking to the media, President of the National Union of Ghana Students, Daniel Korley Botchwey hinted that failure by waec to release the results,they (NUGS) will mobilize Ghanaian students for a nationwide protest.

To him WAEC has, over the years, acted in a manner that disregards these constitutional principles, leading to severe injustices for thousands of students.
He however call on government to ensure WAEC have some reforms to see to it that the injustices Ghanaian students get from WAEC will be a thing of the past.
He the therefore call for the removal of the head of Ghana office, WAEC if the reforms are not initiated to address the deep seated injustices, adding WAEC is accountable to the people of Ghana and therefore continue abuse of its discretionary must be stop.
Chairman for legal and student rights committee, Noah Osei Asenso on his part alluded that as a welfare body for all Ghanaians they are going to seek court interpretation to ensure that right things must be do on the part of WAEC.

He stressed that, education is the fundamental human rights, and WAEC must uphold justice, transparency, and accountability for all Ghanaian students.
He opined that the credibility of WAEC is at stake if students and the general public lose confidence in its fairness.
