Kumasi’s Heroes Park was filled with emotions and tears on Thursday, March 6, 2025, during the final funeral rites for the late ‘Nana Pooley,’ who lost his life at a Ghana Premier League venue.
Tributes from high-ranking officials poured in for the die-hard Kumasi Asante Kotoko supporter.
A delegation led by Kurt Okraku from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) was in attendance.
Kotoko’s bitter rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, who had been supportive, also made their presence felt.
Representatives of other Ghana Premier League clubs attended the burial to commiserate with Kotoko.
Emotions aroused high when mourners joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko fans in singing the ‘Okum Apem, Apem Bɛ Ba’ song in a charged atmosphere as they laid the deceased to rest.

Media practitioners from various platforms within the Kumasi metropolis were all in attendance.
