The Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) has successfully ignited food passions with its highly anticipated Food Cooking Competition, held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Lapaz, Flattop.

The event brought together employees from various departments, including the newsroom, Sports, Drive Show, Morning Show, and Technical Team, who showcased their culinary skills in a friendly and engaging atmosphere.

Participants prepared a diverse range of dishes, such as Gɔbɛ, Wakye, Apkle/Fetri Detsi, Kenkey, Fufu with special soup, and Banku with grilled tilapia, highlighting their creativity and passion for food.

The event fostered camaraderie among colleagues, who relished tasting each other’s creations and sharing invaluable cooking tips.

Most importantly, the Technical Team emerged victorious in the competition, followed closely by the Drive Show. The Sports Team secured third place, while the Morning Show ranked fourth, and the Newsroom came in last.

The General Manager of ABN, Kwadwo Dickson, expressed the significance of the programme, noting that this is the second edition of Angel Cook.

He explained that the competition aims to showcase made-in-Ghana products to Ghanaians and the world at large. According to him, the programme is set to be organized every March each year.

He pointed out that during the first edition, the competition was held within departments, attracting considerable audience engagement, which prompted the ABN team to establish the event as an annual tradition.

“The importance of this programme is to promote made-in-Ghana products, such as what we wear, what we eat, and to celebrate our language. This competition will be organized every March in the year,” he stated.

He noted that, due to the overwhelming support from their audience, they have decided to host the programme outside the ABN premises.

He urged Ghanaians to patronize made-in-Ghana products, including food, clothing, and their language.

The event attracted numerous local food enthusiasts, who enjoyed sampling the delectable offerings and cheering on their favourite competitors.
