Nigerian actress Bimbo Ademoye’s recent warning to Ghanaian TV stations showing her movies without permission, has sparked a reaction from Ghana’s Communications Minister, Sam George.
The controversy began when a Ghanaian lady defended local TV stations showing Nigerian movies without permission, claiming Ghanaians were doing Nigerians a favor. This sparked a strong reaction from Bimbo Ademoye, who called out Sam George and other Ghanaian officials.
In Bimbo’s post, she tagged George to take actions about the incident which Sam addressed stating:
“My attention has been drawn to your post. I would be raising the issue with my colleague, the minister responsible for overseeing television content.
“I wish to assure you that our government is very respectful of intellectual property rights and would ensure the protection of same. I believe Ghana and Nigeria have so much we can collaborate on for our mutual benefit,” he commented.
