A book of condolence will be opened tomorrow, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in honour of the late Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, family of the late musician has confirmed this in a statement
The statement, dated Sunday, July 27, stated that the book would be available at the private residence of the deceased, located at Kinshasha Crescent in Accra, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
“The Fosu family of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation to all well-wishers, friends, colleagues, fans, and the general public for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support following the passing of their beloved, Daddy Lumba after a brief illness.
“In this time of deep grief, your kindness and solidarity have brought us great comfort. As part of the arrangements to honour his memory, the Fosu family wishes to announce the Book of Condolence in honour of Daddy Lumba,” the family said.
They also announced a candlelight vigil night under the auspices of Creative Arts Agency on Saturday, 2nd August at the Independence Square at 6:00 p.m.
While assuring the public that final funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course, the family thanked everyone for the outpouring support during this difficult period and respectfully demanded continued privacy as they mourn.
“We kindly ask the public to continue to respect the privacy of the family as they mourn their lost icon, while also joining us to celebrate the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of our beloved Daddy Lumba.”
Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, at age 60, following a short illness.
Similarly, Ghana’s Creative Arts Agency has announced plans to hold a National Candlelight Vigil in memory of the late hilife music legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba.
According to the Agency, the solemn and inspirational event will take place on 2nd August, 2025, at the Independence Square in Accra from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
According to them, the vigil forms part of a global tribute taking place concurrently in Ghana, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands.
