The Agency Supervisor of Prudential Life Insurance-Ghana, Danquah Branch in Accra, Getrude Mensah, has expressed concern over the alarmingly low number of Ghanaians enrolled in life insurance.
She revealed that just 2% of the over 30 million population are registered under life insurance policies, a statistic she described as devastating.

Madam Mensah underscored the essential role of insurance in safeguarding one’s future and urged the public to treat it as a priority.
Marking her fourth anniversary in the insurance industry, she led a charity walk on Saturday, July 26, 2025, distributing meals to the less privileged along some principal streets in Accra.

The walk doubled as an outreach event, during which she and her team educated the public on the benefits of insurance, emphasizing its importance in dealing with unpredictable life events.
She highlighted the ability of insurance to provide immediate financial support during emergencies and stressed that policies are designed to offer relief in moments of crisis when individuals may have no other form of assistance.

She also reassured the public about the reliability of insurance services in Ghana, noting that the National Insurance Commission regulates the sector to ensure prompt claims processing.
“Therefore, nobody should be afraid of patronizing an insurance policy because it is safe and secure, and once you have genuine documents to prove your claim, your money will be paid without any stress,” she assured.
