The Asankragwa Division of the Western Central Region Police Command intercepted suspect Daniel Yeboah at the Samreboi–Tanokrom Snap Checkpoint on July 31, 2025.
He was found onboard a tricycle (Pragia) carrying two travel bags containing 66 compressed parcels suspected to be Indian hemp.
The suspect claimed the parcels had been handed to him by a woman in Wenchi for delivery to her at Mumuni Camp, near Samreboi.
According to a police statement, Yeboah admitted receiving GH¢5,000 for the delivery.
“Police immediately launched investigation, and strenuous efforts are being made to apprehend the alleged woman to aid investigation,” the statement indicated.
Mr. Yeboah is scheduled to appear before court on Monday, August 4.
The Regional Police Command is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in locating the alleged woman to support the investigation.
