Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has encouraged the public, especially her constituents to venture into legitimate gold businesses.
In an interview on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, she explained that her experience in the gold industry has allowed her to mobilize over three-thousand people in her constituency, supporting them to secure licenses to operate.
“I am a gold dealer, exporter and trader, the only woman licensed gold exporter in the country.
“I have encouraged over 3,000 people in my constituency to do gold business and I am helping them to acquire their licenses,” Joana Cudjoe said.
She further added that, together with the District Chief Executive (DCE), Peter Amponsah, efforts are underway to educate the constituents on responsible mining practices, ensuring they follow legal channels and avoid illegal mining that can cause environmental damage.
