Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has returned to his club to continue the ongoing season following national team duties.

Asare, the Black Stars’ first-choice goalkeeper, made his return after helping Ghana secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With FIFA’s calendar, club football resumes this weekend after a break for the FIFA international fixtures.

Accra Hearts of Oak welcomed their captain back at the team’s training grounds in Pobiman with a hero’s reception.

In a video posted on the clubs Facebook, Asare’s teammates formed two lines, creating a pathway for him to walk through.

As he passed, they patted his shoulders and back in celebration. Similarly, the same gesture was shown equipment officer Abdul Rahman Alhassan who was part of the Black Stars technical team.

“Our players and technical staff joined in congratulating our very own goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare and equipment officer Abdul Rahman Alhassan for helping the Ghana Black Stars qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup! Proud moments for the Phobia family!” Hearts of Oak said.

He participated in training and is expected to be included in the squad for Hearts of Oak’s matchday six away fixture against Berekum Chelsea.
