Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has urged delegates in the Savannah Region to ensure that their warm reception given to him in the area translates into electoral support.
Mr. Agyapong indicated that based on how powerful he was received during his thank-you tour of the area, the people let it count on the balloting
He expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic welcome but stressed that such energy must be matched with decisive action at the polls in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
“Savannah Region, I thank you for the powerful reception. But your energy must be met with action, not just words,” he said in a statement on X after concluding his tour on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
The former MP promised them to tap into the region’s wealth soil through large scale agriculture activities.
“My vision is clear and practical. This region’s wealth is in its soil, but we have failed to unlock it. We will move beyond subsistence farming to aggressive, large-scale mechanized agriculture.”
He outlined plans to establish factories in the region to process agricultural produce, adding value and curbing the export of raw materials at low prices.
“This is how we create real, sustainable jobs for our youth. Not with empty promises, but with assembly lines, skilled labor, and a paycheck they can be proud of.”
He added that restoring dignity through work would be central to his leadership, anchored on three principles: patriotism, honesty, and discipline.
“The foundation is non-negotiable,” he declared, and mentioned that “Patriotism to build for Ghana, honesty to ensure the resources serve the people, and discipline to see it through.”
Mr. Agyapong urged delegates to move beyond rhetoric and vote decisively in January 2026.
“The time for talk is over. Vote Number 1 on the ballot. Let’s get to work,” parts of the statement urge.
