President John Mahama, on Tuesday, October 28, visited the family of the late former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings to express his condolences.
He also took the opportunity to sign the book of condolence opened in honor of the late First Lady.
Mr. Mahama’s entourage included his wife, the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, among others.
While expressing condolences to the bereaved family, he assured them of a befitting state burial and a dignified farewell.
“We are waiting for the family to meet and tell us what their desires are. But I just want to announce as President that we shall give her a state funeral,” he said.
According to the President, the government will liaise with the bereaved family for coordination during this period. “We will work closely with the family,” Mr. Mahama added.
Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
