The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has condemned an attack on personnel of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) at Bronikrom near Hwediem in the Ahafo Region.
In a statement issued on Monday, November 3, 2025, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, expressed strong disapproval of the incident, which occurred on Saturday, November 1.
“Having been adequately briefed on the matter, the minister strongly condemns the incident,” the statement, signed by the Media Relations Officer of the sector, stated.
According to the statement, the Minister, after being adequately briefed on the matter, has held meetings with the Speaker of Parliament and the Minister for the Interior to ensure swift and rigorous investigations into the unfortunate attack.
The statement reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bringing to book all perpetrators who aid, support, or front the continuous decimation of the environment.
