Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Black Sherif has opened up about the emotional inspiration behind his soul-stirring song “Homeless,” revealing that the record was inspired out of a deeply personal and painful experience.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Angel Drive Show on Angel FM on Monday, November 10, 2025, the “Second Sermon” hitmaker disclosed that “Homeless” was written during a time when he and his team were actually living without a place to stay.
“We actually were homeless for some time. It was the fourth day of being homeless. That song was actually the most realest music we’ve ever written,” Black Sherif revealed.
He went on to paint a vivid picture of the moment the song came to life, describing how his appearance and surroundings reflected the emotional weight of that period.
“I remember I was wearing a black summer hat, a black plain T-shirt, and a light gilet army color. Joker was sitting beside me with a music box, and he was playing the beat connected to the music bod while I was writing the song,” he recalled.
The musician, further said the period of homelessness was one of the most challenging times in his life and career.
