President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), Stephen Miezan has stressed that stronger collaboration between government and the private sector is crucial to propel Ghana’s economic growth and development.
Addressing the 5th Chamber Business Awards 2025, with the theme “Revitalising Ghana’s Development Agenda through Strategic Public–Private Collaboration,” he stated that the GNCCI, established under L.I 611 of 1968 (Act 232) is mandated to protect and promote the interests of the Ghanaian private sector.

He indicated that the Chamber remains pivotal in bridging government and private enterprises through national and international trade missions, policy dialogues, and business support programmes.
“We are not observers in the economic conversation; we are partners; our mission remains to ensure that Ghana’s private sector remains competitive, ethical, and growth-driven in today’s global economy,” Mr. Miezan stated.
He reiterated that public-private collaboration should transcend rhetoric and be evident in the nation’s budgetary frameworks, credit systems, infrastructure development, and policies safeguarding local industries.

He welcomed the government’s renewed emphasis on industrial revitalisation, infrastructure financing, and value-chain development, affirming the Chamber’s readiness to support these initiatives within its constitutional mandate.
Mr. Miezan also lauded both government and the private sector for their resilience and innovation amidst global economic headwinds.
He called for stronger partnerships in manufacturing, agriculture, digitalization, and renewable energy to unlock Ghana’s full economic potential.
He also took the opportunity to honour businesses that have excelled and upheld ethical practices, describing them as “the backbone of Ghana’s economic progress”.
“Together, through strategic public–private collaboration, we can revitalize Ghana’s development agenda, build a resilient economy, and secure a brighter future for generations to come,” he noted.
The 5th Chamber Business Awards recognised exceptional Ghanaian businesses and individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation’s economic growth and development.
