Ghanaian musician Paul Nii Amu Andrew Darko stage name Darkovibes, has praised digital music platforms for its contribution to independent artistes, highlighting the growth and opportunities now available in the Ghanaian music industry.
Speaking in an interview on Y’adwumanie on Angel FM on Tuesday, October 18, 2025, he reflected on the progress of Ghanaian music.
“Ghana music has come a long way. We came from nothing to something. At first, we didn’t have streaming revenue, but now we gain something. Even though it’s not enough, at least as an independent artiste, you can manage it and use it for something,” he said.
Darkovibes further acknowledged the role of digital platforms in promoting music.
“At first, if you didn’t have these platforms, you didn’t know or have any way to promote your music or shoot content. But we thank God online music platforms contributed so that independent artistes can also gain something,” he highlighted.
He also called for increased investment in Ghana’s entertainment sector.
“So I will say that where we came from and where we are right now, we are grateful. We are looking for more opportunities and business investment in entertainment, not only in music, but in film productions as well. Ghana entertainment as a whole needs more investment and support,” he added.
