Member of Parliament (MP) for Asunafo North, Haruna Mohammed, has criticized the Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) contract as irrelevant, explaining that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) already has the capacity to mobilize its own revenue.
Mr. Haruna noted that Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) was projected to generate a significant amount of money from 2024 to 2028, yet the company is not operating as intended.
“If the SML contract had not been terminated, it would have generated GH¢1.25 billion from now until 2028, adding that these revelations justify his removal,” he emphasized.
Mr. Haruna further expressed confidence that stakeholders could pursue prosecution against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta who has been complicated in a scandal sorrounding the company.
“ Although OSP is very optimistic about these charges, and with the kind of investigation done. I will be able to prosecute him if I had the report,” he reiterated.
