Communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ellen Ama Daaku, has issued a stern warning to former Tema West Member of Parliament (MP), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, over remarks about former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
She warned the former lawmaker to be decorous in her commentaries targeted at Dr. Bawumia to avoid facing the wrath of sympathisers and supporters of the presidential hopeful.
Madam Torshie Addo has come under heavy scrutiny from supporters of Dr. Bawumia after reports emerged that she accused him of playing a significant role in the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on the issue with Saddick Adams on Angel TV, Ms. Daaku cautioned the former MP for Tema West to be mindful of her utterances, especially what she described as “abusive.”
“I don’t want to go there,” she warned, speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Monday, November 24, 2025, suggesting there were deeper issues she would not raise publicly.
According to the communicator, who doubles as a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Naa Torshie’s criticisms are not grounded in facts; however, she suggested they should be expressed with utmost respect.
In a sharp rebuke, Ms. Daaku accused Naa Torshie of not being proactive during her tenure as Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF). She alleged that at a point, she refused to disburse funds to the various districts until former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and former Local Government Minister Daniel Botwe intervened.
To this, she maintained that the presidential hopeful, Dr. Bawumia, remains focused and disciplined, stressing that no amount of abusive or provocative words can shake or break the unity of his camp.
“No comment can break Dr. Bawumia’s team into pieces,” says Ellen Ama Daaku in a jab to Irene Naa Torshie.
