Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has assured Ghanaians that the 15% tariff reversal by the United States of America’s (USA) President, Donald Trump, on Ghanaian cocoa exports to the USA applies not only to raw cocoa beans but also to all semi-processed cocoa exported from Ghana.
In his Facebook post on Monday, November 24, 2025, he stated that the President Mahama administration remains committed to achieving real value addition in the cocoa sector.
Mr. Ablakwa further emphasized that efforts will continue to negotiate the best deal for Ghana regarding cocoa exports.
The announcement comes amidst discussions on trade policies affecting Ghana’s cocoa industry.
