Acting head of the Complementary Education Agency, Daniel Kwesi Ashiama has emphasized the importance of coexistence between different religions.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Thursday, November 27, 2025, he addressed concerns about alleged religious bias in mission schools, asserting that coexistence is essential for progress.
Mr. Ashiama advocated religious tolerance, highlighting that students require a peaceful environment to thrive academically.
“What I will opt for is religious tolerance
At the end of the day, we must give the students a peaceful environment to study,” he stated.
According to him, these issues are peripherals, stating that it is not the main issue as far as education is concerned, the main reason why they are in school is to study.
He urged the Supreme court to resolve these issues in a manner that promotes religious coexistence and harmony.
“I plead with the Supreme court to handle the issue and reach a religious coexistence and peace,” he said.
He further called on the authorities of the Methodist Church to maintain peace and urged students from diverse religious backgrounds to manage their temperaments and actions to foster a peaceful learning atmosphere.
“I plead with Methodist authorities to hold their peace and not to escalate the situation.
“I plead with the students from other religious background to manage their temperament and your way of doing things to ensure peace,” he urged.
