Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, Myriam Monrat, has urged individuals planning to travel to Canada for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to submit their visa applications as early as possible.
Speaking on preparations for the global event, the High Commissioner cautioned prospective travellers not to rely on third parties, urging them instead to use official channels to avoid fraud.
“My advice for people interested in attending the World Cup is to ensure they put in the visa application as early as possible.
“The best way is to go directly to the source to put in the application using the channel of our respective government when it comes to immigration, to avoid scammers,” she urged.
The ambassador emphasized the objective of ensuring a smooth and efficient process, reiterating that because high demand is expected, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications promptly.
Speaking further, the High Commissioner noted that Canada is coordinating closely with its co-hosts to ensure a seamless experience for visitors.
“We are working very closely with our colleagues in the US and Mexico to ensure cohesion and coherence in a way to approach the World Cup,” she said.
