The Jerry John Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has partnered with the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region to donate school uniforms to pupils in the area.
The initiative, part of the Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility, benefited more than 1,250 pupils from various schools across several communities.

Communities that benefited include Motoka No. 1, Motoka No. 2, Gyato Chao, Boafre, Chinderi, Nandi Akura, and others.
Speaking to Angel News’ Caleb Ali, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Foundation, Jerry John Yenabi, explained that after conducting research, they realized the district faced pressing challenges, particularly in education.

This motivated the Foundation to partner with government to touch lives and transform societies.
“It is not right for pupils to be enrolled in schools without uniforms. While many expect the central government to handle this alone, we sought to partner with government to extend our support. This is what drives us to touch and transform lives,” he stated.
Mr. Yenabi further noted that during their visits, they observed additional challenges such as inadequate furniture and other educational resources, which the Foundation plans to address in the future.
He appealed to well-meaning Ghanaians and organizations to cooperate in improving the quality of education in the district, stressing that such support would help prepare pupils to become better future leaders.
“We call on other governmental and non-governmental organizations to support this cause. During our tours, we realized that some schools lack furniture, books, and other teaching and learning materials needed to improve education in the area,” he added.
In appreciation, some parents expressed gratitude to the GES and the Jerry John Foundation for their kind gesture.
According to them, many could not afford uniforms for their wards, but the donation has eased part of their burden.
“We have not witnessed such an unprecedented gesture from anyone in this area. May God bless him. To recognize and acknowledge this district in this way is overwhelming, because this is happening here for the first time in 45 years,” they said.
Parents further appealed to the donors to consider addressing infrastructure deficits to improve teaching and learning conditions.
“We also request that whenever the opportunity arises, kindly come to us again, this time with infrastructure support, because we do not have befitting school buildings,” a parent added.
