The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has called on corporate Ghana to collaborate with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in efforts to support farmers.
Addressing the 41st Farmers’ Day celebration in Ho in the Volta Region on Friday, December 5, he emphasized a renewed national commitment to advancing agriculture.
“I urge corporate Ghana to partner with the Ministry,” Mr. Opoku stated.
He explained that modern agricultural success relies not only on land and labour but also on access to timely and reliable weather information.
“Climate variability and unpredictability remain some of the biggest challenges confronting our farmers. Tackling these issues requires systems that can generate, analyse, and share data in real time,” he noted during a recent Government Accountability Series Session.
The Minister further highlighted that MoFA has made notable progress in reshaping Ghana’s agro-meteorological framework to better serve the farming community.
