Legendary Ghanaian goalkeeper Sammy Adjei has expressed his readiness to represent the senior national team, Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup if the opportunity is bestowed him to return to the pitch.
He disclosed that he is ever prepared to join the Black Stars should an invitation be extended to him.
Speaking on Angel TV on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the retired shot-stopper stated that he is willing to come out of retirement to serve the country if the national team places its trust in him.
“Yes, since we’re about six months to the start of the tournament, I will use only three months to train,” Mr. Adjei stated boldy when asked about his capability to return to active duty should the need arise.
The former Black Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, widely regarded as one of the greatest safest pair of hands of his era, made the declaration during an exclusive with Angel Sports Live hosted by host Darius Osei Ember.
Adjei, who enjoyed a decorated career with Hearts of Oak and featured prominently for the Black Stars, insisted that his experience and determination remain intact, and he would not hesitate to answer the nation’s call if required.
