Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has strongly criticized the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing its administration as a reversal, rather than the promised ‘reset’.
He arguied that the NDC which then in opposition kicked against the purchase of a new presidential jet has now approved a budget to purchase “an even expensive” one for President John Dramani Mahama.
“The NDC, while in opposition, opposed a new presidential jet, citing the existing one as pristine and needless for a new one.
Yet, within 12 months, it ordered a $60 million jet for the President, while the pristine presidential jet remains on the tarmac. That’s a reverse, not a reset,” he stated.
Mr. Aboagye claimed in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday, December 12, 2025, that illegal mining is rising, with authorities blocked from accessing sites while some political figures are seen facilitating it.
“Galamsey has escalated to alarming levels with the state functionaries not able to even enter some forests and NDC party functionaries like the upper Denkyira East Chairman caught on camera enabling Galamsey, is a reverse not a reset,” he said.
He further added that a reversal, not a reset is an evident in the gap between rising living costs and minimal salary increases
“Electricity tariffs have been increased by 28% and water by 15% in the first 12 months, when in the whole of 2017 & 2018, there was no utility tariffs increase.
“When you increase public sector workers salary by 9% at a time when their utility has been increased by 28%,” he remarked.
