Popular Ghanaian actress and television presenter, Nana Ama McBrown, has revealed that although she loved her former husband, the was compelled to leave the marriage due to circumstances beyond her control.
She said this in a one-on-one interview on Wednesday, January 17, 2025, during which she opened up about her divorce and her current relationship with her former husband.
According to her, marriage is no longer a priority, but reconciliation is not completely off the table.
“I won’t marry again, but I can still give birth again if necessary,” she stated, opening up to giving birth if the opportunity presents itself.
McBrown disclosed that she still has love for her ex-husband and would be willing to reconcile if circumstances allow.
“If there is a chance for me to go back to my husband and settle, I am willing to,” she said.
Explaining the reason behind their separation, the actress noted that exhaustion, not hatred, led to the divorce.
“I still love him, but I was just tired of the marriage; that’s why I left,” she explained.
She further emphasized that their bond remains strong because of their child.
“It will be difficult for me to hate a man I have a child with. He pays his daughter’s school fees and plays his fatherly role,” McBrown added.
According to her, the relationship between both families is still intact.
“His family is my family. If I will marry again, then it will be him, but only if he says something to convince me,” she noted.
McBrown stressed that marriage should not be associated with bitterness.
“Marriage is not hatred. I’m an understanding person; if you understand me, you will understand the word,” she said.
She also revealed that despite the divorce, their professional relationship continues.
“I’ve divorced my husband, but we are still friends. He still manages me,” she disclosed.
Reflecting on her years in marriage, McBrown said she had a fulfilling experience.
“I’ve been married for twelve good years. If you see a celebrity in Ghana who has been able to stay in their marriage till now, he or she deserve to be applauded,” she concluded.
