The Tema Regional Police Command successfully foiled a robbery attempt at Community 24 in the Adjei-Kojo District of the Ashaiman Division, resulting in the deaths of three suspects.

According to a press release issued by the Command’s Public Affairs Unit on Monday, December 22, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 21, 2025.

According to the police, at about 1:30 a.m., the Ashaiman Divisional Police Intelligence Team received information about an ongoing robbery at a private residence in the area.

A police team was immediately dispatched to the scene, where they encountered six masked men armed with guns, machetes, and other offensive weapons.

The suspects reportedly opened fire on the police, prompting the officers to return fire. Three of the suspects were fatally wounded during the exchange and later succumbed to their injuries.

The remaining three, believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, fled the scene, the police noted in their statement.

Police retrieved several items from the location, including three face masks, three machetes, and an unregistered Royal 125 motorbike. The bodies of the deceased suspects have since been conveyed to the Police Hospital for preservation, identification, and autopsy.
