The Class Media Group (CMG) has condemned Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) personnel for assaulting one of its journalists and urged a proper
investigation into the incident.
In a press statement on Monday, January 5, 2026, signed by Alhaji Seidu Agongo, highlighted that the incident undermines press freedom and threatens journalists safety in the country.
“Such incidents not only threaten press freedom and the safety of journalists but also undermine Ghana’s credibility and standing as a champion of media rights,” Alhaji Seidu emphasized.
Mr. Seidu advised authorities to conduct “ a swift and impartial investigation” to
establish the facts and ensure accountability.
He emphasized that the journalist was performing his lawful duties and called for full cooperation from all parties to ensure the safety of media practitioners.
Class Media Group reiterated its commitment to promoting responsible journalism and called for calm as the matter is addressed.
