The Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has emphasized that the Supreme Court’s 4-1 ruling on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, which quashed the 2024 Kpandai rerun, does not signify the end of the matter for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking to the media after the ruling, Mr. Dafeamekpor noted that the NDC will await the certified judgment and consider its next line of action following a potential review.
He explained that the gazette notification issued under the Electoral Commission’s authority is a valid public document used by Parliament to swear in Members and should not be dismissed as invalid.
He criticized what he described as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) double standards regarding the development, recalling that the party dismissed a previous Tamale High Court ruling as a “kangaroo court when it went against them.”
“But now they are singing of the court, but we, [NDC) are law abiding,” he said.
Mr. Dafeamekpor urged supporters to remain patient, stressing that the case is ongoing and the “the ruling on the case will be filed according to the court’s own decision by February 6.”
