Voting has formally commenced across the country as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) elects its flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In total, over 211,000 delegates are expected to cast their ballots at more than 300 polling centres nationwide.
Five individuals are contesting for the position to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
They include the 2024 flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; former Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr. Bryan Acheampong; and former Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
The remaining candidates are former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and businessman Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
The Ghana Police Service has rolled out comprehensive security measures to ensure a peaceful and incident-free process nationwide.
The service has warned against hooliganism, noting that anyone found culpable will be dealt with the law accordingly.
