Actress and social media personality, Efia Odo, has sparked heated discussions online after commenting on the circulation of explicit videos allegedly involving Russian national Vyacheslav Trahov and African women.
In a post on her Twitter page, Efia Odo wrote:
“On a more serious note, this Russian man visiting different African countries and taking advantage of women points to a bigger issue.
“Our history and unequal systems have shaped how people define success and who they think has better opportunities.
“Being white is seen as a shortcut to travel, money, or a better life, and it has created a power imbalance that can be taken advantage of. It’s easier to blame the women than to actually acknowledge the system that’s creating this way of thinking.”

Her remarks have attracted mixed reactions from social media users, with some challenging her perspective.
One commenter stated:
“Efia, I respect you paa, we all saw the videos, where did he take advantage of them? They all consented to it.”
Another added:
“Efia, this is normal and it happens everywhere. Come to Kumasi and see how our Kumasi girls have married Chinese men. You’ll see and laugh… forget the boys.”
Meanwhile, Albert Nat Hyde wrote:
“Honestly, with no disrespect or whatsoever, I do not think you’re the right person to speak on anything moral. Issues like this should not elicit an opinion from you, especially from you.”
