The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has begun a shut-down exercise on food service establishments operating without a valid Food Hygiene Permit.
In a social media post on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Authority stated that the enforcement action comes two weeks after issuing a public notice warning operators to regularize their documentation or face sanctions.
According to the FDA, sixteen (16) non-compliant food service establishments in the Greater Accra Region were shut down for failing to meet regulatory requirements.

“The Cheesecake House, Dolce Frizzante, Onda, and Alora Beach Resort, among others were shut down for failing to meet the regulatory requirements,” the Authority revealed.
The Authority reiterated its commitment to protecting public health and ensuring that all food service providers operate in strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
