10 injured in pile-up on Konongo-Kumasi highway

A pile-up at Kubease on the Konongo-Kumasi Highway on March 5, 2026, involving an STC Bus (GS 7045-22), a Volvo truck (GN 4093-21), and a Benz Atego truck (GR 7972-17).

The accident injured 10 people, including Madam Ampofo Manu and Mr. Benjamin Akpana, who were rushed to Asante Akyem Central Municipal Hospital and Ejisu Government Hospital for treatment.

The STC driver, Mr. Isaac Yigah, was trapped in the wreckage but was rescued by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) team led by AStnO Danku Christian.

The vehicles suffered significant damage, with the STC Bus’s front, Volvo truck’s cowl, and Benz Atego truck’s driver’s side affected.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

The fire service team responded promptly to the scene, rescuing the trapped driver and providing assistance to the injured.
