I still don’t believe Castro is dead – Funny Face
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Comedian and actor Funny Face has opened up about his strong belief that the missing Ghanaian musician Castro may still be alive, years after the singer mysteriously disappeared.

Speaking during an interview, Funny Face recalled how people reacted when he expressed the same opinion while receiving treatment at a psychiatric hospital.

According to him, his comments led health officials to move him into a special room because many people found his beliefs unusual.

“I still don’t believe Castro is dead. When I said this at the psychiatric hospital, they took me to a special room because nobody has seen his dead body till now,” he stated.

Funny Face explained that, in his view, the absence of Castro’s body leaves room for hope that the musician could still be alive somewhere.

“People can migrate, people can leave their country to a different country, but I believe we will see him someday. If we see him, fine. If we don’t too, it’s fine,” he added.

The comedian also reflected on the close relationship he shared with Castro before the musician’s disappearance. He revealed that Castro played a major role in introducing him to the music industry and helping him record his early songs.

“Castro was the one who introduced me to music. We did the first one, ‘Banana Sweet,’” Funny Face said.

Funny Face and Castro were known for their collaborations years ago, with “Banana Sweet” becoming one of the popular comic-themed songs that strengthened Funny Face’s presence in entertainment beyond comedy.

In July 2014, Castro and Janet Bandu were reported to have disappeared following a drowning incident during a trip at Ada Estuary while on holiday alongside the Gyan brothers.  Despite several search efforts over the years, neither Castro nor Miss Bandu was found, leaving the incident one of Ghana’s biggest entertainment mysteries.
