The Young Apostles Football Club has denied claims that Aduana Football Club Chief Executive Officer Collins Atta Poku was denied entry into the stadium during their Ghana Premier League encounter over the weekend.
According to the Wenchi-based club, such a development never occurred, but rather it was Mr. Poku who chose to remain outside the venue.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 12, 2026, Young Apostles described the narrative circulating on social media following their 1-0 victory over Aduana FC as “deliberate and misleading.”
“We are deeply disappointed by the deliberate and misleading portrayal being advanced by the Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Football Club, Mr. Collins Atta Poku,” the club stated.
Explaining the circumstances surrounding the matter, Young Apostles said Mr. Poku attempted to use an unauthorised entrance to the VIP section upon arrival and was directed to the designated entrance in accordance with standard stadium security and access protocols.
The club said its management made repeated efforts to facilitate his entry and personally invited him to join the VIP section, but he declined the invitations and chose to remain outside the stadium before sharing photographs online.
“Mr. Poku subsequently chose, of his own volition, to remain outside the stadium and later shared photographs that create a false impression of exclusion,” the statement added.
Young Apostles further stated that it provided full hospitality to visiting Aduana FC supporters, reaffirming its commitment to fair play, respect and sportsmanship.
The club urged stakeholders, especially the media, to refrain from spreading what it described as misleading information intended to tarnish its reputation.
It added that it remained committed to ensuring that visiting teams, officials and supporters were treated with respect and courtesy.
