The Supreme Court has resumed sitting despite the ongoing nationwide strike by the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG), which continues to disrupt operations at several courts.
The Court resumed its normal business on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, following a directive from the Office of the Judicial Secretary.
The directive, dated November 2, 2026, was signed by Judicial Secretary Musah Ahmed.
It reads: “Pursuant to the direction of His Lordship, the Chief Justice, it is hereby notified for the information of all Lawyers and parties to proceedings that the Supreme Court shall convene for its normal court business tomorrow, Tuesday, 3rd November 2026.”
The notice further entreated all counsel and parties to the proceedings to treat the directive with the urgency it deserves.
“All counsel and parties with matters listed before the Court are advised to take note and govern themselves accordingly.”
The notice comes after JUSAG, in a separate statement, said its strike was still ongoing despite what it described as a “progressive meeting” with the Chief Justice and Management of the Judicial Service.
