The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed reports of a recent student death at Ghana National College, clarifying that the incident being circulated occurred in 2018.
In a public notice shared on its Facebook page, the Service stated that no student had passed away at the school.
According to GES, the reported death incident dates back to 2018 and does not constitute a recent occurrence as being suggested.
“No student has passed away at Ghana National College. This particular reported demise occurred in 2018,” It stated.
The Service further cautioned against what it described as attempts by some faceless individuals to reopen the painful wounds of the bereaved family.
GES also said the circulation of the reports could unjustly tarnish the reputation of teachers, house mistresses and the school.
“The general public is therefore urged to disregard the disingenuous attempts by some faceless individuals to reopen the painful wounds of the bereaved family and unjustly besmirch the reputation of the teachers/house mistresses and the school.”
