A fire outbreak has destroyed 11 rooms in a 23-room compound house at Anlo Town, near the Old Slaughter House in Koforidua, Eastern Region.
Personal belongings, two electric motorbikes and a bicycle were also destroyed in the incident, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed.
However, a ten-member crew from the GNFS’s New Juaben North Municipal Fire Station swiftly responded and brought the fire under control before completely extinguishing it.
According to the Service, the prompt intervention prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining properties.
“Access to the building has been restricted due to concerns about its structural integrity,” the GNFS said in a statement.
Senior officers of the Fire and Police Services visited the scene, while preliminary investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
