The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the New Juabeng South Assembly, Isaac Apaw-Gyasi has revealed that former Trades Minister, John Alan Kyeremanten will soon re-join the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The decision, Apaw-Gyasi speaking on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday said the decision to rejoin the NPP followed a peaceful resolution of the issues that caused the former Trades Minister to break away from the ruling party to form his own movement.
Alan K broke away from the NPP in September 2023 to form his own political movement, Movement for Change which he classifies as a youth led movement seeking to address problems faced by the country.
The movement has gone on to create alliances with other political movements and have declared their intention to contest the 2024 elections.
Apaw-Gyasi however claims the NPP has undertaken various steps to ensure that the vision of Alan K to have his image on the final ballot sheet for the 2024 elections is not realised.
He told sit-in host of the Angel Morning Show that efforts are being made to convince Alan Kyeremanten back to the NPP.
“You don’t have to worry about our brothers from Movement for Change because they joining the NPP soon…,” he said.
He disclosed that meetings have been held and he is confident very soon, Alan K will return back to the NPP
“We have had conversations and resolved all issues. You can take it from me they are coming back,” he added.
Alan Kyeremanten has been a key and important personality in the New Patriotic Party since 1992. He has served as Trade and Industry Minister in the Kuffour regime and also recently in the Akufo-Addo government before his resignation.
He began his quest as flagbearer of the NPP since 2007 but unfortunately couldn’t materialise that dream leading to his withdrawal from the NPP last year 2023.
