The Kwabenya Circuit Court has remanded a 37-year-old Aviation Operator, Solomon Tetteh Cudjoe to two weeks in police custody for siphoning fuel.
Narrating the facts of the case to the court, Chief Inspector Theodora Akanwarisagi said, the complainant Kojo Agyei Baah is a security supervisor with Blue Ocean Company Limited located at the Kotoka international Airport and resides at Adenta.
The complainant, according to the Police reported the accused person, 37-year-old Solomon Tetteh Codjoe who is an Aviation Operator and resides at Tema Community 2.
Police report indicate that on 04/09/2024 at about 2:10 am, the complainant was on his planned inspections within their yard when he detected that a white KIA Bongo truck with registration number GC 4329-20 was parked inside the yard.
He went closer to see a hose connected from the hydrant pipe line siphoning the company’s fuel into containers in the KIA Bongo truck and the culprit took to his heels leaving the KIA truck with the fuel behind.
She said, Complainant quickly called his manager, Mr. Divine Dey and informed him about the incident who also called the police to the crime scene and the KIA truck together with the siphoned fuel was taken to the station for investigation.
Later, on same day, the first accused was arrested and brought to the station to assist investigation and in the course of investigation, the accused person admitted the offence in his caution statement and mentioned one Seth, and Enoch all at large as his accomplices.
The cost of the stolen fuel is GHC 25,860,000.
Angel news Court Correspondent, Ama Brako Ampofo reports that, the accused pleaded not guilty to two charges of conspiracy and stealing causing the court presided over by Mrs. Mawusi Bedjrah to adjourn the case to 16th September, 2024.
