Tension is reportedly mounting within the Black Queens camp following comments allegedly made by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, regarding their unpaid bonuses.
According to reports by Saddick Adams of the Angel Sports Desk, the playing body’s disappointment has deepened following the Minister’s visit to the camp.
The Black Queens have been demanding payment of bonuses owed from previous matches.
During a recent visit to the team’s camp, the Minister reportedly assured the players of plans to settle the outstanding payments; however, he was unable to confirm when the disbursement would be made.
In a separate remark that has sparked concern among team members, Hon. Adams allegedly warned that any refusal to play could attract a two-year ban.
“He is also said to have warned that failure to play could result in a two-year ban, after which a new generations of players would be called up to represent the Black Queens,” he said in a Facebook post.
The development has reportedly unsettled the camp, with players said to be considering a boycott of their all-important 2026 WAFCON qualifier second leg against Egypt in Accra on Tuesday, October 27, 2025.
