NPP laid the foundation for current economic stability – Boakye-Danquah

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has stated that the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is benefiting from the economic discipline introduced by the previous administration under President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Dr. Boakye-Danquah emphasized that the dollar’s current stability is largely due to the foundational policies implemented by the NPP to rebuild the economy during challenging times.

“If the economy is performing now, it is under the conditions created by the fact that Nana Addo Akufo-Addo implemented proper foundations,” he added.

Dr. Boakye-Danquah, who doubles as a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), urged members of the incumbent government to credit the opposition party of the economic successes.

He also highlighted the global challenges the NPP government faced between 2021 and 2024, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

He noted that these natural phenomena disrupted the county’s economy, causing public sector workers, such as nurses and doctors, to stay home, and increasing government expenditure.
