The Divisional Chief of Dorm in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Nene Baah Muala III, has advised the youth of Kroboland to embrace discipline, emphasising that they are the future leaders in the absence of their elders.
Speaking at a Mini Durbar of the 2025 Ngmayem Festival at Salem, Nene Baah urged the youth in the area to practise self-discipline and refrain from immoral behaviours that could jeopardise their lives and future ambitions.
“Young men and women who are coming up, you are the future for this town; therefore, desist from immoral behaviours and let your character be seen as a good one,” he stated.
He lamented that many young people today are not living as long as those from the 1980s and 1990s due to a lack of discipline.
“Remember that those elderly people seen in their old age were once like you, and if they were not disciplined, they wouldn’t have reached this age. Therefore, be disciplined to have a long life,” the traditional ruler advised.
He further explained the importance of celebrating the Ngmayem Festival, highlighting that it serves as a means of remembering their ancestors and sharing ideas for the development of Kroboland.
